Having graduated with a Masters degree from the University of
Surrey in England, Neil first
started painting in 1986 in The Hague in Holland. |
|
His
early works were abstract oil on canvas inspired by the great
cities of The Hague, Amsterdam and the flat, wide open spaces
of the Netherlands. |
|
In
the late 1980's Neil moved back to England holding his first
exhibition of abstract watercolours. |
|
In
1989 Neil moved to New York where he continued his work
resulting in a show of abstract works in paper (collage), oil
on canvas and a series of inks. |
|
Returning to England in the early 1990's Neil went through a
prolific phase working with oils and acrylics on canvas
holding his biggest exhibition in Covent Garden in London,
England. |
|
Moving to Paris in 1995 Neil's work became more stark,
resulting in a series of ink abstracts on paper inspired by
the architecture around St. Sulpice and Le Sorbonne. |
|
In
great contrast Neil then moved to Sydney, Australia for eight
years, painting large scale oils and acrylics on canvas
inspired by the lush colours of the sea, sky, sand
and palms. Neil held several exhibitions in Sydney and
Brisbane. |
|
Moving back to England in 2004, Neil has been experimenting
with a series of media including acrylic spray on paper (the
works in this web site) and back to one of his favourite
media, ink - online soon. |
